Astrology for October 2023 with Janet Parfitt
Welcome to the astrology for October and the big news for this month is that this is eclipse season. The eclipses are portals of transformation and change so Cerridwen will be in Her element here. Especially as the Sun, Mercury and Mars are all going into Scorpio. There is no escaping the intensity of all this re-birthing energy.
On the 5th Mercury enters Libra so thoughts will tend to be about how to create harmony in your life and others. There may be some indecision as Libran energy doesn’t want to offend anyone so sometimes, they will just avoid a decision if it means someone is going to get hurt.
On the 9th Venus goes into Virgo. This placing in its highest energy is about self-sacrifice and service for Virgo is the sign of the Priestess. In its negative energy Venus in Virgo can be picking fault with your loved ones with an endless stream of criticism. Go to the love and don’t chase perfection.
On the 11th the good news is that Pluto goes direct. The energy to transform may have been stalled but now you can go forward with any changes that you want to make.
On the 12th Mars goes into Scorpio. Mars rules your energy and your drive and when it goes into Scorpio you will probably feel compelled to go deep into the Underworld visiting Cerridwen in Her Crystal Cave.
The 14th brings a new Moon in Libra and a solar eclipse. There may be changes in how you relate to others but be careful about making any decisions. During an eclipse there is a sense of things being hidden so you probably won’t have all the facts. Wait until the eclipse is over before you make any important decisions.
On the 22nd Mercury enters Scorpio and where your energy and drive have gone, your thoughts now follow.
On the 23rd the Sun enters Scorpio and your ego also enters the Underworld. Cerridwen beckons and you can’t say no. With your ego, your thoughts and your drive exploring the darkness, you become wholly committed to the process of transformation. There is a sense here of events being beyond the control of us humans. The logical rational mind cannot help you here. Trust your intuition on this journey. Cerridwen may be taking us on a wild ride but if we surrender to Her it will be much easier. If we fight and try to resist we just make it harder on ourselves. She knows what is best for us. We must trust Her implicitly.
We finish the month with a full Moon in Taurus on the 28th and this is a lunar eclipse. There could be changes around food and money but again wait until the eclipse is over before you make any big decisions.
As we move towards Samhain, Cerridwen is taking us on a descent. We have to go down before we can go up. Hold on tight. It might be a bumpy ride but it will be so worth it.
