Astrology for January 2023
After the intensity of the last few months, Cerridwen brings us back into the light and pushes us forwards in January. Venus goes into Aquarius on the 3rd, which can mean more group activities and you might find yourself attracted to people who are quite different from yourself. There is a full Moon on the 6th in Cancer. This moon gives us the feeling of retreating into a cave or, like Taliesin, entering Cerridwen’s womb. The Moon and Cancer are deeply connected to the feminine, so this could feel like a retreat into our sacred feminine, regardless of what gender we identify as. In January, we have three planets turning direct and this full moon feels like a pause while we wait for all the planets to turn. As with all full moons, there will be a sense of things coming to some sort of culmination. However, I believe this will be more about being than doing.
On the 12th, Mars turns direct. Mars is still in Gemini and will be until the 25th of March, but your energy and drive should start to pick up and communications that have been stalled should finally get going again. The positive side of Mars in Gemini is that emails should be flying around. There is a massive amount of energy given to all things to do with communication. The negative side of having the planet of war in Gemini is that words can become a battleground. Tempers can fray and hurtful words can be spoken that cannot be unsaid.
On the 18th, Mercury goes direct, so communications will be improving all round with all the usual Mercury retrograde glitches starting to move away at last.
On the 21st, there will be a new moon in Aquarius, which can lead to surprises and revelations. It will be a good time to step more into your authentic self. Do not be afraid of what others will say or of being condemned as weird. Being your amazing and unique self is very much in keeping with the energy that Aquarius and its ruling planet of Uranus are bringing in.
On the 22nd, Uranus goes direct. Expect the unexpected, as any planet has its energy strengthened when it stations. Uranus is the planet of thunderstorms, the bolt from a clear blue sky. Whatever Uranus brings, one thing can be guaranteed. You will never see it coming. But whatever happens is designed to shock you out of any situation where you have become stuck and propel you on your forward path whether you like it or not!
From the 22nd of January to the 1st of May 2023 all the planets will be direct which is quite unusual. This is a fantastic time for making progress and going forwards. The full moon in Aquarius, as well as Venus in Aquarius and Uranus turning direct, brings a lot of Aquarian energy to the fore. This is a taste of what Pluto going into Aquarius in March 2023 is going to bring. The Age of Aquarius is dawning!
