Astrology for April 2023 with Janet Parfitt

After all the intensity of March, Cerridwen appears to be giving us all a little bit of a breather in April. On the 3rd of March, Mercury enters Taurus.  This might slow down our thought processes for a while as Taurus is a Fixed Earth sign, so our thoughts are likely to be slow and steady.  Taurus is ruled by Venus, so we may find ourselves thinking about beauty and love, which can’t be a bad thing.

The Full Moon

The Full Moon on the 6th is in Libra, another sign that is ruled by Venus.  At this time we may find ourselves searching for balance and harmony in our lives.  So much has changed that it feels like we all need to re-calibrate where we are and what we are trying to achieve.  Issues to do with justice can crop up as Libran energy wants everyone to be treated fairly.  The Sun, Jupiter and Chiron are in Aries and will all be sitting in opposition to this Moon.  Aries is the energy of self whereas Libra looks to create harmony with others so there may be a push and a pull between what you want and what others want.  Try to utilise the Libran energy by finding some sort of compromise.  The Sun rules the ego and backed by Jupiter and Chiron, this could be a time of healing and growth.

On the 11th Venus enters Gemini.  This is not the best placement for the planet Venus.  She wants to love and connect with all but Gemini can be so easily bored that their energy moves on to the next thing or the next person before Venus really has a chance to get going.

The New Moon

On the 20th there is a New Moon in the last degree of Aries.  This is also a Total Solar Eclipse.  Eclipses can bring things to a climax in some way and as this one is at 29 degrees and aspecting Pluto, this could be transformational.  Aries is energetic and fiery; this energy wants to begin things.  So there is a feeling of new beginnings and endings here.  If something finishes then it probably won’t take long for something new to come in.  Only four hours after this eclipse the Sun goes into Taurus and the energy will slow down again, which might be just as well as there could be a lot to process by this time.

On the 21st Mercury goes retrograde, so prepare for all the usual communication problems, such as emails going astray and computers being awkward.  But Mercury retrograde is not all bad as it does give us an opportunity to go over past thought processes and communications and think about how we can do better.
